My guinea pig has a GI tract infection. We brought him to the vet and they had proscribed medicine but he seems to be getting worse. What should I do?

Thanks for reaching out about Leo. Were any diagnostics performed? Intestinal bacterial overgrowth can be the results of primary problems: metabolic disorders, intestinal inflammation, foreign body, dietary deficiencies, dental disease, endocrine disorders and more. If diagnostics were not performed, radiographs and blood work are recommended. Call your veterinarian and let them know Leo is not doing well. Good luck.
