Yes a puppy usually will go potty once every 6-8 hrs, so this is quite normal. You can't force a pet to go 1 time a day. In fact that is detrimental to the health of a pet to hold it in for that long. A pet that holds its urine for more than 8 hrs is at high risk of getting a urinary tract infection and if that pet also holds its poop, it is high risk for constipation issues. Please allow your pet to go outside regularly. If you are unable to do so because of your work schedule, then consider hiring a dog walker or someone you trust to let Jenny outside for her needed potty breaks. I hope that this helps and best wishes with your puppy Jenny moving forward! Take care.

Thank you for contacting Pet Coach with your concern about Ellie. Yes this is normal behavior, some dogs only need to go potty twice a day. Others like to go out more often. As long as she is going pee and poop at least once a day, she has no difficulty doing either, and the appearance of the pee and poop are normal, I would not be worried about it. Best of luck!
