My dog has parvo, still vomiting, and IV caused wounds. What now?

Pet's info: Dog | Dachshund | Male | unneutered | 1 year and 7 months old

Hello. Dachshund 1,5 y old. 9 days ago he was diagnosed with parvo and receiving treatment morning and night with iv fluids, glucose and antibiotics for 8 days . The vomiting reduced (once a day) but hasn't stopped. On top of that because the iv was administrated under skin not in the vein, he developed hematomas that burst last night and left laceration on his chest. The vet is tending his wounds right now, but she is not sure how to proceed. Can you please give me advice what to do. Thanks, N

You can give this article to your vet. It may help her make a home treatment plan for Milo. He definitely needs continued antibiotic therapy and he should be eating small meals of very high calorie foods every 3-4 hours. Tell your vet the reason he got abscesses/hematomas from the fluid administration under the skin is that you cannot put glucose under the skin. In the future she should not do that. If she wants to give glucose it must be done directly in the vein, orally or via nasogastric tube. ( https://www.medvetforpets.com/outpatient-protocol-dogs-parvoviral-enteritis/ )
