My cat has tail bumps; why does she lick paw? Vet needed?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Ragdoll | Female | spayed | 16 lbs

My cat, Duchess, has 2 weird bumps by her tail, and if you touch them, she will start licking or biting her paw. She doesn't cry, or seem to be in pain, but I wasn't sure if I needed to take her to the vet, and would like to get an idea of what they could be? Thank you, Jennifer Heasley

Hello Jennifer, thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. I'm sorry but can you please post again with some photos? It is very difficult for us to give you any advice if we can't see what you are referring to. I can say that any lumps/bumps you find on your pet should be examined by your vet. Thank you.
