What to do when my dog has hiccups and refuses to drink water?

My adult Yorkie has the hiccups. It started late last night. It seems to go away for about an hour but it comes back . I tried to give him water but he won’t drink it for some reason. What can I do to make it stop. Pet's info: Dog | Yorkshire Terrier | Male | neutered | 4 years and 9 months old | 8 lbs

Hi there and thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach to address your concern. Hiccups will not typically cause any problems. I would try and exercise him and get him to go for a long walk or run / chase after a toy for a bit to see if this helps the hiccups go away. Offer water and maybe add a small amount of chicken broth to the water to entice him. Hopefully this helps!
