My dog has symptoms of a bacterial skin infection. What should I do?

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Buddy. He needs to see a veterinarian. It is possible that he has a bacterial skin infection, but there are other possibilities as well. He will likely need skin tests to look for ringworm and mites. Based on these results, medications can be prescribed to help him feel better. I hope this information helps!

    It looks like he has a mild bacterial skin infection or reaction to something he may have come into contact with. Without an exam there's no way to know for sure, but you can give him a bath with lukewarm water and a mild oatmeal-based shampoo to soothe his skin. If it does not improve over the net few days or gets worse, get him in to see your vet for diagnosis and treatment.
