My dog has diarrhea, no appetite, low energy. What to do before vet?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 1 year and 6 months old | 49 lbs

Hi, My dog is having diarrhoea, refusing most food and has had a vast change in demeanour and energy levels. I’m going to take him to a vet when they open today but was hoping to get some idea of what might be going on and what I can do until I can get him seen. Thank you!

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Remi. I am glad that he will see his veterinarian soon. It doesn't sound like he is feeling well at all. Try to collect a fecal sample to bring to your appointment. His veterinarian will likely run some tests on it to try to determine the cause of his diarrhea. I also would not feed him prior to his appointment. This will rest his gastrointestinal tract and hopefully slow down the diarrhea. It will also allow a blood sample to be collected if necessary. I hope this information helps!
