Found a stray dog with red eyes. What initial vet care should I get?

There’s a homeless dog in my neighborhood & I want to bring him to be treated/looked at. I’ve never had a dog & don’t know what to look for if it’s sick or has a disease. What should the initial treatment be for a dog that is homeless & has really red eyes? Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Male | 40 lbs

Poor pup. How lovely of you to want to take him in! He needs a physical exam, and the vet will likely want to do blood work and a urinalysis. The red eyes do need to be treated asap. I would take him into a vet today if possible.
