My kitten has a scabby bump. How do I stop her from scratching it?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 7 months and 28 days old | 7.6 lbs

My kitten is eight months old and I just noticed a little scabby bump that she keeps scratching at. It’s not that big. I’m worried about it though! What can I do to keep her from making it worse ( scratching at it)?

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Nefesh. I recommend that she sees her veterinarian to determine the source of the wound. Some cats will scratch this area if they have an ear infection. In the meantime, you will likely need to place an E-collar on her to prevent any further self trauma. I hope this information helps!
