Why is my dog's stool loose and mucousy? What are the dietary causes?

Our 4 year old wirehaired doxy has loose mucoussy stool several days a week. What are some of the possible dietary causes? Pet's info: Dog | Dachshund (Wire Haired) | Female | spayed | 3 years and 11 months old | 14 lbs

It is possible that Sophie has a dietary indiscretion to the current diet or treats you are feeding her. I would recommend trying a different meat protein and see if this helps or try a sensitive stomach formula to see if this helps as well. Sometimes switching to a completely different brand helps as well. If the problem persists, I would recommend having a veterinarian test her stool for fecal parasites just to be on the safe side.
