Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Longhair | Female | spayed | 12 lbs
My 10 year old cat suddenly got wobbly on her legs and didn’t want to walk at all so we took her to the vet. X rays revealed joint fissures of the knees. I don’t know how this happened all of the sudden. The vet said it was pretty bad and now we are hearing clicking noises when she walks, although she is starting to move around more often now. She referred us to an orthopedic vet. My question is what caused this and what are the treatment options/price range? Will my cat get better on her own?

I think you need to consult with the orthopedic specialist. I have not heard the term "joint fissures" so I'm not really sure what condition you are talking about. I'm assuming you are referring to OCD (osteochondroisis dissecans) but I'm not sure. If so, OCD is pretty rare in cats and really rare to show up all of a sudden in an older cat. You need the specialist to confirm the diagnosis and then ask them about treatment options, etc. Without having all the information this is really the best advice I can give you.
