My old unspayed Maltese is leaking murky liquid. Is it pyometra?

Pet's info: Dog | Maltese | Female | unspayed | 10 years and 9 months old | 6 lbs

my 12yr old maltese is a backyard breeder rescue, i think she may be having a silent heat, but shes also leaking a murky liquid. she hasnt had a litter in 4 years but engages with our fixed male maltese when in heat

If Brandy is having vaginal discharge, I would be very concerned that she may have a pyometra (uterine infection) - this is a serious, life-threatening problem that is unfortunately very common in older unspayed females. I would recommend taking her to the vet today to be seen. If she does have a pyometra, she will need emergency surgery to remove the infected uterus.
