My dog ate too much, stomach distended. Should I take her to the vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | American Pit Bull Terrier | Female | spayed | 3 years and 9 months old | 68 lbs

My dog ate a lot of food and her stomach is slightly distended. She was able to poop, twice, and she isn’t showing any signs of discomfort, just thirsty. Does this sound like I should take her to a vet or should I see if symptoms progress. She’s a pit bull, 3yo

From your description, I don't see a need to take Freya into a vet now. Watch her, and if you seeing pacing, anxiety, restlessness, trying to vomit but can't, and/or excessive drooling, take her into a vet right away.
