Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Male | unneutered | 9 months and 2 days old | 5 lbs

we just bought a puppy from a little puppy store in our town and since he’s gotten home he keeps on coughing. but it seems like he’s like dry coughing like ten at a time but when he stops it seems like he almost try’s to puke something out, should we be worried?

Yes, you should bring him to your vet, although this is probably just kennel cough infection which is a self limiting disease it could also be other things, a new puppy with such a problem should always be checked by a vet first thing.
