My green anole keeps opening her mouth. Is this normal or a health issue?

We have a small female green anole. She is about three years old. We found her outside about a year ago. She has been eating and pooping normally ever since. But lately she has been opening her mouth for about two to six seconds at a time. We have never seen her do this, and we don't know what's going on. Please let me know what is going on with her thank you. Pet's info: Reptile | Anole | Female | unspayed

She may be "gaping". This behavior is typically in response to stress or a threat. Monitor for lethargy, wheezing or a clicking/popping sound whilenbreatuing. These symptoms, along with the gaping, may indicate a developing respiratory infection. You would need to have her physically examined by your veterinarian or a vet experienced in treating reptiles for confirmation and treatment.
