Is my 12-week-old sheepadoodle puppy having vision problems?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

I noticed if my husband or I call Dixie's name she runs to look for us but will go right by and not find us until we are right in front of her, very close to her, or reach out to touch her. Then she realizes we are there.. Is this a normal things for a 12 week old sheepadoodle? Also, she sometimes bumps into things and if we throw a toy we have to throw it when it right in front of her face for her to see it go. She will run for it but will go right by it sometimes. Should I be worried?

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Dixie. I recommend seeing her veterinarian to have her vision assessed. Some young puppies run into things as they are still developing their coordination. However, it is important to ensure that she does not have any vision defects. I hope this information helps!
