Is a pink blister normal on my dog's spay incision after 3 weeks?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 6 months and 27 days old | 47 lbs

My dog was spayed just over 3 weeks ago. The incision appeared to be healing very well. A couple days ago I noticed a pink blister type pocket forming at the bottom of her incision. She is acting like her normal self and it doesn’t seem to be bothering her. But not sure if this is normal in the healing process or if I should be making an appointment to see the vet.

It appears to be healing fine based on what I can tell from this photo. You can use some Neosporin on it topically twice a day for the next week or so. I would only be worried if it becomes swollen or is draining fluid from it. Hope this helps!
