My cat meows constantly at my dorm door. How do I get her to stop?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Longhair | Female | spayed

I live in a dorm and have a emotional support animal. Her name is Pancake and she’s a year and a half years old. Ever since I moved in, she’s been meowing at my door constantly day and night. It’s been bothering me and my sleeping habits and i’m worried it will start to annoy the people that live on the same floor as me. Is there anything I can do to get her to stop?

Unfortunately probably not. Pancake probably wants to explore the dorm, and she's not allowed out of your room. I'd get some more toys in your room to try to stimulate her, and get her a window seat so she can look out the window.
