Why does my dog have a white lump by his eye and ear infection?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Rottweiler | Male | neutered | 5 years and 1 month old | 110 lbs

My boy has a small white lump just on the skin in the corner of his eye. It's a hard white lump and I thought it was a spot as he has had acne in the past. It's not inching and it doesn't seem to be bothering him. But he has recently had an ear infection that ive been treating. It's on the same side. And even though there doesn t appear to be anymore infection in his ear, he still holds it low to his head.

This is a very small papilloma wart. It should go away on it's own once his immune system kicks in and generates a response against the wart. Typically, it takes 1-5 months for warts to go away with oral (mouth) growths tending to disappear sooner than those around the eyes. If it doesn't go away in that time frame, or if it gets larger or if he gets more of them, then he should see a vet.
