My dog won't stop licking his tail infection. E-collar makes him sad.

Question

What should I do to make my dog stop licking his ointment/cream (he has an infection on his tail) ? The doc gave an e collar but Cleo doesn't seem to like it and he's getting really depressed, sad and silent. He is not moving from his place and he refuses to sit if we put the e collar on. Also he's getting a lot of itching on his tail. Help me. Pet's info: Dog | Golden Retriever | Male | unneutered | 1 year old | 61.729 lbs

Hi, you could purchase an inflatable collar for dogs that is often much more tolerated than the routine buster collars but I am not sure if it is available near you. The other option would be to get some oral medications from your vets, so something that can be given by mouth and so you would be sure he has got the right dose of medications. Hope this helps !
