My rescue cat is timid, aggressive, and won't bond. What can I do?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 1 year and 2 months old

I received a rescue cat, I work 6 days a week, she is an indoor cat. She hates being around me. Hates toys, and will only have playtime if I let her rip my hands to death. Doesn't enjoy treats, always timid, what can I do?

I'm sorry to hear Zombie doesn't get along with you. If you're busy at work all the time and unable to spend time with her, looking for someone that may be able to do so during the day, looking to get a second cat, or considering rehoming her if she isn't a good fit for your household are all possible ideas. Treating any issues such as separation anxiety while you are gone is also a good thing that may be contributing to her stress. I've included a few articles below that may help: https://www.petcoach.co/cat/condition/separation-anxiety-1/ https://www.petcoach.co/article/7-ways-to-bond-with-your-cat/
