Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | English Mastiff | Male | unneutered | 4 months and 24 days old | 61 lbs

My puppy licked his leg where I applied sulfodene 3 way ointment on a masquito bite he had scratched will it hurt him? I don't think he got a lot of it in his mouth but it was enough to smell it on his mouth, he's been playing and hasn't shown any signs of discomfort.

You may see some drooling or minor stomach upset. Place an e-collar (cone) on him to prevent licking or chewing. If the spot does not show signs of healing in the next few days, have Max examined by your veterinarian.
