Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | spayed | 3 years and 6 months old | 45 lbs

HEALTHSHARE Friday morning Athena had poop with blood in it. Later that night she normal poop with a little bit of diarrhea. Saturday morning she had a normal poop. No diarrhea no blood. I put her on a bland diet of boiled chicken and rice. Today I tried To mix in some of her food, not even half a cup and she got a light brown/ Orange diarrhea. I have had her fast the past 12 hours . No diarrhea, can I feed her a bland diet? Otherwise she is fine no vomit, playing, she still wants to eat

You can continue the bland diet, however with the stool color changes and other issues Athena has had, I would also recommend bringing in a stool sample and Athena into your vet for testing of parasites and other common conditions that could be causing her issues especially since there was a large amount of blood and mucus in her stool.
