My dog ate a rubber toy and is vomiting. What to do without an ER vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 3 years and 4 months old

She ate part of a rubber toy. She did vomit some pieces of it, but I’m afraid there may be more. She did eat this a.m., but vomited food this afternoon. Anything I can do, we have no emergency vets in this area.

Poor Koda. I am concerned as well that there are parts of the toy still in her, and that's causing the vomiting. If there isn't an ER vet in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. The information to reach that vet is found on a clinic's answering machine or website. Please call around to find a vet to see her now. Withhold food, but offer her water.
