My cat was just neutered. Is it safe for him to run and jump?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Male | 10 lbs

I had my cat neutered 2 days ago. He’s been fighting to take the cone off. I got him a onesie that barely fits. But he’s able to run around with it. He’s very active and likes jumping up on my cabinets: Is it ok for him to run around or do I still have to keep him in his carrier?

You should keep Ayden's activity restricted. He may not need to be crated but he should be kept in a bathroom with his litter box, food and water for 7- 14 days. Activity may delay healing. Make sure he wears the cone collar to prevent licking. I hope this helps and please feel free to post any additional questions.
