Do 4-month-old kittens need distemper/leukemia vaccine boosters?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Female | unspayed | 3 months and 28 days old | 4 lbs

I just had my 4 month old kitten vaccinated for distemper, leukemia and rabies. Do I need booster shots for the first two? If so, how long after the first shot? How many boosters? Txs:-)

If Khali is 4 months old and this was her first round of vaccines, she will need boosters for the distemper and leukemia in 2-4 weeks. The rabies does not need a booster. You must be in this 2-4 week window to make sure the vaccines stimulate the immune system properly. I hope this helps and please feel free to post any additional questions.
