Is it normal for my cat to be lethargic and not eat after loratadine?

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 7 years and 8 months old | 15 lbs

I gave my cat loratadine fir allergies & now he missed a meal & slept all day Help!

How many milligrams did you give? Cats can have Loratidine. The recommended dose is 5mg once a day. Side effects are rare with this medication but they can happen. Side effects may include: * hyperactivity * depression/lethargy * elevated heart rate * dry eyes * dry mouth * vomiting * diarrhea * not eating * facial swelling * difficulty breathing * rash * itching If your cat has underlying kidney or liver disease that can make side effects worse. If this behavior lasts longer than 24 hours he needs to see a vet. In the future you should consult with your vet before giving any medications to your cat.
