Pet's info: Dog | Maltipoo | Female | unspayed | 10 years and 3 months old | 10 lbs
I visited the vet today because of a possible cancerous tumor around my dog’s breasts. He said it wasn’t, but that I should spay her now to reduce risk of that and a pyometra because they were scared she had that earlier but it ended up also being a false alarm. Is it really worth it to spay her at 10 years old? Given all the risks.. would it really reduce the risk, or is it too late?

Spaying her may not significantly decrease her risk of developing mammary gland tumors at this age, but it would definitely prevent a pyometra in the future. If her blood work is normal and her physical exam is "clear", she should be spayed. Your vet can tailor an anesthetic protocol taking Miny's age into consideration.
