Pet's info: Dog | Golden Retriever | Male | neutered | 2 years and 4 months old
My 2-year-old Golden Retriever is getting extremely dominant and aggressive to other animals. Not humans. He growls, lunges at (no bites, yet). Vet diagnosed him with Hip Dysplasia and said he may have some pain. But his attitude is getting scary and I'm afraid it's a matter of time before he bites. A cat or dog could walk by and he growls. Dogs he doesn't know he goes crazy and tries to attack. It's all-new. Could this be over his Dysplasia? Would special behaviour training benefit him?

Yes, the pain could be a part of it but I would expect him to be aggressive with everyone and not just other dogs. Are you doing anything to manage his hip dysplasia? I suggest you speak to your vet about that. Training with a professional, in-home dog trainer is definitely recommended. I like BarkBusters. You will have to contact them to see if they have a trainer in your area. If they can't help you, you can do an internet search for trainers in your area or ask your vet for a recommendation.
