Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Male | unneutered | 2 years and 10 months old | 53 lbs

My friend dog has a red, raw spot. We shaved her hair short and have web bathing her with Veternery clinical shampoo antiseptic anrifungal shampoo. She is taking 2 baths a week. Is there something else we should do? We also put an Advantiz treatment on her as well

Thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach with your question about your friend's dog. Yes, I would recommend having her seen by a vet. It looks like she could have a hot spot, and that typically requires prescription medication to treat. I'd have your friend take her into the vet in the morning. Best of luck.
