Found a stray puppy with something in its leg. What should I do?

Found this puppy on the side of the road. Had fleas but we washed them off and killed them. As we were washing her we saw she had something sticking out of her leg, I am unaware of what it is. Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | unspayed | 6 lbs

Thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach with your question about Willow. Poor little girl, how lovely of you to pick her up from the side of the road. I wonder if that's a foreign body of some sort, like a pricker, but I can't be sure without seeing her in person. It doesn't look like a piece of bone. Do not try to pull it out, have her seen by a vet asap to get it checked out. I hope this helps!
