Why does my cat's neuter incision look open after two weeks?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Siamese | Male | neutered | 5 months and 26 days old

My cat was neutered 14 days ago (4 September). From 2-3 days ago I noticed a scab on one of his testis, it looks like the incision opened. He is eating normally and he's playful. Is the incision not healing correctly? I don't notice any discharge or swelling.

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Axel. The incision does appear to have opened a small amount. It is likely fine, but I do recommend that he sees his veterinarian. You need to be sure that an infection is not starting. I hope this information helps!
