Why is my cat shaking, not eating, vomiting, and getting so thin?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 1 year old | 4.85 lbs

My cat Theo was an active cat even after he got neutered. He has a new brother last August and was so happy! Things changed on 29th of August, every time he walks, he's shaking. I brought him to a vet and got a diagnosis as yeast infections in his ear, a Nd got prescription. But he hasn't improved and gets worsen. He stops eating the last 2 days, has diarrhea couple days ago and tonight he vomited all his dinner. He gets thinner and thinner and barely able to walk. :( What happened to him?

All of those signs are very concerning that something more serious is going on. If Theo hasn't eaten at all in two days and can't keep anything down, it is best to seek care from your vet or another vet ASAP as this can indicate more severe illness or underlying issue. More thorough workup such as bloodwork or X-rays are also a good idea to try and find the cause such as an infection, virus, obstruction, etc that could be causing the underlying issue.
