Found an injured bird that can't fly. What should I do to help?

Hi..I just found this bird near our house laying still.. we tried but it doesn't fly..what type of bird is it..we don't see much of such here..what does it eat..I have no clue what to do..how to help it..please advise...thank you. Pet's info: Bird | Unknown - Bird | Male | unneutered

It appears to be a species of Egret. They eat small fish, frogs, aquatic and terrestrial insects, small reptiles and small birds. It would be best if you could get the bird into the hands of a wildlife rehabilitator. It may require veterinary care after a proper exam to determine the extent of any injuries.
