Best wormer for 7-week puppy repeat dose? Pyrantel or WormEze?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Dachshund miniature | Male | unneutered | 1 month and 22 days old | 2.5 lbs

WormEze - active ingredient piperazine citrate - dosage for 7.5 week old 2.4 pound puppy? He was given this brand of wormer for his first worming and he is due for the repeat treatment after 10 days but I am not sure how much was given the first time as I was not the one to administer it. Or would it be okay to use a different wormer medicine as the repeat treatment today that is better for small puppies such as pyrantel?

Pyrantel would be better to give - I would administer 0.5mls by mouth. You can repeat this up to every 2 weeks until he is 4 months old. Piperazine is really not that effective. If you want to give it you can. The dose would be 1/2 teaspoon.
