My senior cat is overweight, but barely eats. Why is he so fat?

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 12 years and 5 months old | 17.8 lbs

I have a 17lbs cat that don't really eat that much of what I see was actually giving him feeding tines he would eat only like a 1/4 cup a food a day, he is 12 y/o male neutered and not all that active but it just don't seem to make sense why he is so fat can you explain?

He probably just has a very slow metabolism. I do not know what brand of food you are currently feeding but you may need to switch him to a lower calorie food. If you would like to post again with the name of food you are feeding then we could probably help you better.
