My cat was hit by a car and ran off. Is it possible he's okay?

Pet's info: Cat | Bombay | Male | unneutered | 2 years and 6 months old | 9 lbs

I amvery worried.my sister said she saw my cat get ran over by a car and then run away. I didn't know if it was possible to have a cat get run over and run. he usually comes back everymorning but this time he hasn't.. im not sure if he survived and it scared him into coming back or if he actually got ran over and died somewhere else or if she was just scared and thought it ran himover ? im not sure. she said she saw it go over him and he got up and ran off. is this possible?? do you think hes ok

I’m very sorry to hear this happened. Yes, it is possible for a cat to get hit by a car and then run away. It depends on which part of the body was hit and also animals get a rush of adrenaline during an emergency and that might allow them to run away even if they’re injured
