My bird is losing face feathers on one side. Is it diet or illness?

So my bird Karu has lost feathers on his face. But it’s only one side, and I don’t know if it’s because he’s scratching too much in that spot. So, I just need to know if it’s diet problems or what? Pet's info: Bird | Lovebird | Male | 0.1 lbs

Thanks for reaching out about Karu and including photos. Dietary deficiencies probably don't result in local feather scratching. Concerns would be around a sinus infection, viral disease, or metabolic disorders. A veterinary visit is recommended to assess and provide a diagnostic/treatment plan. Try placing cage in steamy bathroom for 10-15 minutes. Monitor to sneezing or other concerns. Good luck.
