My dog's groin is purple, but he's not in pain. Is it serious?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Male | neutered | 4 years and 10 months old | 15 lbs

I have noticed that buster has been purple near his groan area. He isn't in pain or showing any irritation. Bowl movements are fine.

This could be skin irritation/infection but it could also be subcutaneous bleeding (which can be serious). I strongly suggest you have him examined by a vet. In the meantime you can try these medicated pads on the affected areas in case of infection. ( https://www.chewy.com/douxo-chlorhexidine-3-ps-pads-dogs/dp/110823 )
