Why does my cat have protein in her urine during cancer treatment?

Hi Trixie is undergoing treatment for small cell lymphoma for about 5 months now. She takes a Leukeran every 2 weeks, prednisolone 5mg every 24 hours and mirtazapine every 24 hours. Her urinalysis Showed some protein in the urine so my vet did a protein /creatinine ratio test and it came back with a quantitative value of .3. She says if we check again in 3 weeks and it’s greater than .4 she may be proteinuric & will need medicine. Could the protein in the urine be due to her chemo treatment? Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Female | spayed | 12 years and 2 months old | 11.5 lbs
