Dog breathing fast, not on heartworm prevention. Is it heartworms?

Pet's info: Dog | DOG-SMALL-LONGHAIR | Female | unspayed | 1 year and 9 months old | 15 lbs

Molly has been breathing faster than normal dose this mean she could have heartworms or something how do they caught them she is not on heart worm prevention

Dogs get heart worms from mosquitos. Breathing faster than normal could be due to heart worms, but it could also be due to other things such as pain, heat, fever, heart disease, or a respiratory infection. I'd have Molly checked out by a vet.
