Why does my dog have a recurring rash and pustules? Is it pyoderma?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Female | spayed | 10 months and 11 days old | 170 lbs

My lab has had this rash/pustules appearing intermittently since she got fixed back in April. She has been to the vet multiple times with no answers. She just got allergy tested (since she was sneezing and occasionally got puffy eyes when she would come in from outside - also she has been avoiding the grass) and everything came back negative. It kind of looks like Pyoderma to me but I’m not positive. Any advice would be super helpful! Thank you!

Yes, it looks likely to be a widespread and severe pyoderma. Antibiotic treatment needs to be attempted in this case best following a culture and sensitivity testing of the skin to determine the specifically the type of bacteria involved.
