I just got a puppy and one of my dogs acts overly excited and his eyes get really red and he pants a lot, and when I say overly excited, I mean OVERLY excited. Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Male | unneutered | 80 lbs

It sounds like the new puppy is probably very exciting and very stressful for Penguin as very heavy panting is usually a sign of stress in dogs. I would continue to do short, monitored meetings to let the two get to know each other in a safe environment, and then give Penguin plenty of alone time to relax and get some personal attention. If he gets too excited during the meeting, taking a break, letting everyone calm down, and then trying again later is best. As the two get used to each other more and more, you can extend their time together under supervision.
