My senior dog had a good day. When should I consider euthanasia?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 9 years and 8 months old

5 days ago, my dog’s health deteriorated. The first 2 days, he had uncontrollable trembling - he barely wanted to move. Around the 2-3 day, he stopped trembling, but he had greenish goop coming from his eye and didn't eat for 4 days. His pee has blood in it; he has this big bump on his paw that we think is a tumor. On the 3rd day, we started talking about euthanasia. Today, he started to eat and started to act like himself - what should we do?

I'm sorry Prince isn't doing well. Unfortunately when senior dogs are sick, they have good days and bad days. The bad days will outweigh the good days, which you are seeing now. I'd enjoy this day with him, but when he starts to go downhill again, I do think euthanasia should be considered. I hope this helps.
