My unspayed dog is leaking, bloated, and incontinent. Is it pyometra?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | English Bulldog | Female | unspayed | 7 years and 9 months old

Hello, my 7 year old female English bulldog has been miserable for about 3 days now, she’s not spade, she’s leaking fluid from her vagina worse than ever before. She looks bloated and can’t control her urine. I understand I need to take her to get ASAP but she isn’t friendly around other dogs as we rescued her and think she may have been mistreated. Thanks

This is a medical emergency, and Lola has to see a vet now. I would be concerned she has a pyometra, and that is fatal without treatment. Do not let her problems around other dogs prevent her from getting the help she needs, just her into a vet. You can keep her away from other dogs while waiting to see the vet, but given the situation, I suspect you will be taken in immediately for the vet. Please take her into a vet immediately.
