Pet's info: Dog | Shih Tzu | Female | unspayed | 15 lbs
My dog is a shin tzu. He is about 9 years old, and kind of all of the sudden his behavior has changed. He has stated to act skittish and scared of everyone in the house. He goes up under beds and whimpers and cry. He is using the bathroom in the house a lot. He barks and whimpers when he is put in the cage. He has also started to kind off walk close to the ground like he’s scared of something. Plus he is is shaking a lot. This is not how he usually acts at all.

If only Oreo could talk! This type of behavior could be related to something like anxiety or to pain/discomfort. I recommend to have her examined by the veterinarian who will check for evidence of pain on the physical exam. They may also check a urine sample or the anal glands as well. Since she can't talk, it's best to play it safe. Best of luck.
