How soon can I apply Advantage II to my cat after another flea med?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Bombay | Female | unspayed | 1 year and 4 months old | 9 lbs

I have 1 adult cat and two kittens. We recently moved to country and they have become infested with fleas. Aug 23 I used Sergeant's Pronyl Plus and it seemed to have worked. I didnt see fleas and they were no longer itching.... until 5 days ago, they are again infested and id say worse then before. I bought Advantage II this time but am wondering if I need to wait the thirty days before applying this kind.

If it's been at least two weeks since you applied the Sergeant's, which it has been, it's safe to apply the Advantage now. You will also have to disinfect the environment. Wash their bedding in hot soapy water, and vacuum the furniture and carpet surfaces. You can use a spray to kill fleas in the house, such as Indorex, or a flea bomb would work well to kill the fleas in the home.
