Why did my puppy cry when pooping and now seems unusually sleepy?

My 12 week cavapoo puppy really squealed when going toilet and now seems really sleepy. Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Female | unspayed | 2 months and 23 days old

Not sure what happened here. A number of things can cause a pet to yelp, including inflammation of the colon (colitis), being bitten by a bug, stepping on something sharp, etc. You will have to do a good exam of your pets back end and paws to see if there is anything obvious there. If there aren't any obvious inflamed or red areas, then its best to monitor Lulu for the next 6 hrs to see if the incident happens again. Best case scenario is that this is just an isolated incident and there isn't anything serious to be concerned about. Puppies sleep all the time, so that isn't particularly worrisome either.
