Why is my bird quiet, inactive, fluffed up, and staying on his perch?

Pet's info: Bird | Parakeet | Male | unneutered

Hi there, I have a bird that is doing the following. Hardly active as he would normally be, eating and drinking fine just very very quiet. I have to physically take him out of the cage to have time outside rather than him coming out willingly and sometimes fluffing up than going back no fluffing. Favouring one position of the cage on his perch with his back turned

Hello, I would recommend taking Ollie into his veterinarian for a check up. Birds often hide illness until it is very severe, so even a mildly quieter bird may be a very sick one. They will likely recommend bloodwork and x-rays to start investigating possible causes of illness. Parakeets can commonly suffer from respiratory infections, abdominal tumors, and reproductive disease. I hope this is helpful. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
