My kitten has diarrhea and an eye ulcer. Should I see a vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Male | unneutered | 1 month and 4 days old

I have just found a roughly three week old kitten and taken him in. He had bad fleas, but after several flea combings and antibacterial baths all the fleas, eggs and dust seem to be gone. However, his right eye appears to have an ulcer and he has diarrhea. He’s also severely underweight, as when we found him he hadn’t eaten in a while. He’s on a homemade formula at the moment until we can purchase actual KMR, but what can I do to help his diarrhea go away?

An eye ulcer is very serious, as leaving it untreated can lead to it melting and causing rupture of the eye and permanent vision loss. Morty has to see a vet immediately, and while there, the vet can treat his diarrhea. Please take him into a vet now.
